A BMI of 23 or more in someone who is Black, Asian or another minority ethnic group suggests a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes.1

Your BMI is below 18.5: Your BMI suggests that you are underweight. Speak to your doctor about ways to gain weight in a healthy way.

Your BMI is 18.5–24.9: Your BMI is considered healthy and normal. Well done!

Your BMI is 25–29.9: Your BMI suggests you might be overweight. Start making small changes to increase your physical activity and eat a healthier diet. Sustainable changes to your lifestyle can really help to reduce your risk of health problems in the future.

Your BMI is above 30: You are considered as obese. Obesity is linked to diabetes, testosterone deficiency, heart disease, and many other health issues. It’s really important that you try and make healthier lifestyle choices, you can speak to your doctor about this. Every small, healthy choice that you make, can help you to live longer and get your body and mind back on track.
